Other: Arbor’s micro-cruiser - the Pocket Rocket is designed for snappy, thread-the-needle maneuverability and all around stashability. A concave profile and kick tail/nose expand the performance range of this mini design.

After working closely with Arbor for more than four years, Joel Woodman has joined the Arbor family as the in-house art director. Soon after graduating from Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles, Joel began developing Arbor’s signature graphics for skate and apparel at Sauce Creative in Venice, CA. In addition, Joel has worked on numerous progressive projects including the founding of BE Aware magazine in 2004. More recently Joel published his first book, The Paradox of Grace: The Rise of the Lone Superpower, which took him to various locations in Vietnam, Washington D.C., and defense industry events through out the U.S. Joel’s work on the all-mountain Formula, features an artist strength that will now flow throughout the Arbor brand.
ECO TECH
Sustainably Sourced Hardrock Maple Plys - Maple provides the best blend of durability and light-weight performance. It's also redially available and affordable, allowing us to offer a price point that is uncommonly low for an eco-product.
Bamboo Power Ply - Bamboo is a remarkably sustainable material. By adding it as a power-generating deck-side ply we not only give our skates a super clean, Zen flavor - but also provide our customers with improved return and lasting durability.
Recycled Glass - Crushed recycled glass is used in our clear re-grip to replace highly processed grip tapes - allows the natural grain to remain visible, while providing better performance than the silica bead-based alternatives.
Water-Based Finishes - All Arbor skates are produced using a water-based sanding sealer and final finish as the best way to help protect the air we all breath, especially when skating…
KOA DECKS: made with seven plys of hardrock maple and a finish ply of Hawaiian Koa, all of which are sustainably sourced. Koa's more densely packed fibers add important structure, which improves return, while providing a one-of-a-kind grain pattern on each deck. Koa wood was used by the Hawaiians to build the 1st surfboards over 600 years ago.
WOOD BY-PRODUCT: all wood by-product created during the production of our skateboards is reclaimed for use in other Arbor products or by outside companies. This allows Arbor to stretch an important resource, while helping to reduce the strain on landfills and forestlands.
RECYCLED GLASS RE-GRIP: most Arbor decks are gripped with long-lasting crushed recycled glass. This ultra clear re-grip surface allows the deck’s natural grain and color to remain highly visible, while providing better performance than silica bead alternatives.
WATER BASED FINISHES: all Arbor skateboards are produced using a water-based sanding sealer and final finish to avoid polluting the air we breathe, especially when skating.
RECYCLED PLASTIC RISERS: all Arbor completes are shipped with recycled plastic risers, which allows us to reduce our dependence on petroleum-based plastics, while helping the effort to stop the proliferation of plastic pollution.

Since 1995, Arbor’s designs have been ecologically based, and for most of that time, the only environmentally friendly alternative available. Through the years, a lot of people have looked at what they do and thought - “tree-huggers.” They never fought the label too much - after all, the goal from the start was to do right by the planet.
