When the Heist debuted in 2008, it set the benchmark by which all flex decks would be judged. Responsive yet not overpowering, the Heist is the elite in drop-thru flex decks. Double reinforced around the cut outs, Never Summer uses additional laminates to improve torsional response and durability while keeping the foot platform soft and lively.
P-Tex UHMW Tip & Tail Protectors: P-Tex UHMW Tip & Tail Protectors – Never Summer pioneered the use of P-tex in the sidewalls of their snowboards for durability and ease of repair. Adding the same proven P-tex tip and tail bumpers provides a level of protection and durability not found in any other longboard on the market. STS/SK8 Fiberglass: Never Summer uses their exclusive STS/SK8 fiberglass in each and every one of our skateboards. This pre-hardened, pre-tensioned, layered laminate is the world’s best fiberglass and only Never Summer has it. The fiberglass maintains the flex pattern of your longboard, keeping it consistent from day one until you need to retire the deck to get one of the future designs.
Vertically Laminated Aspen Core: Utilizing their in-house wood working facility Never Summer manufactures a vertically laminated aspen core for all of their longboards. Borrowing from their proven snowboard core technology, they have adapted their Flight Core characteristics to make NS’s VLAC; a strong, light and solid responsive platform for longboards.
Bi-Lite/SK8 Fiberglass: The Bi-Lite/SK8 is a very snappy and light fiberglass that adds strength and response in Never Summer longboards.
Hard Rock Maple: Never Summer's maple veneers are hard, maple laminates engineered by Great Lakes Veneer for Never Summer to their exact specifications.
Quality, thickness and moisture content are the key items here.
Rubber Damping: Rubber Damping is utilized in all of Never Summer's longboards to absorb vibrations from the trucks to offer a smooth and stable ride and reduce high speed wobbles.
